#Bento 100 - Homemade Char Siew and pan fried thai sauce red snapper fillet

And this is my 100th post on bento making but I have certainly prepared more than 100, just that I did not post every single one of them....=)

Today's lunch for hubby ......missing some greens......

Recipe for homemade Char Siew (Pin this recipe!)

Ingredients:

200g of pork
50ml of water

Marinade:

1 tbsp of sugar
1/2 tsp of salt
1 tbsp of light soya sauce
1/2 tsp of dark soya sauce (for colour)
Abit of char siew powder ( Optional, I prefer black Char Siew to red)

Method:

1) Rinse the pork. Drain well.
2) Take a big container and add pork and marinade. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Marinate in the fridge for about 4 hours.

3) Heat K-Art frying pan. Add marinated pork and fry till fragrant. Flip over to fry the other side.

4) Add marinade and water and cook over low heat until gravy thickens. We are garlic lovers so no harm throwing in some!

*If there is still too much sauce, you can open the lid and turn up the fire till the sauce thickens.

5) Remove char siew to slice before transferring to a serving plate.

Keep the remaining sauce to drizzle over rice or to mix with noodles. Yumz!
